Noteworthy Classification Features:
Brick single-story building with a side gable roof. The front façade is symmetrical with a center door and two double-hung windows on each side with stone sills. The corners are quoined with limestone square blocks. Above the door is a colonial-style lantern light fixture. The frieze has the words: United States Post Office Olympia Fields, Illinois 60461. On the center of the peaked roof is a cupola with metal compass. The octogonal cupola is painted to resemble gold and has painted blue louvers for ventilation. On the sides are security windows with fixed 2X6 panes of glass with stone sills. The rear windows are double hung, but the vertical mullions extend over the bottom window and are fixed for security. In the rear is a flat cantilevered awning.
