Noteworthy Classification Features:
A large rectangular brick building with a wide gable roof, the noteworthy feature is a projecting bay clad in cast stone with a stained glass window with a semi-abstract design. In front of the window is a large stone sculpture of St. Joseph holding the baby Jesus. The bay is subdivided into a square grid, the squares project. Three squares on each side of the front doors are filled with granite. A rectory and parish hall flank the church. They are clad in brick with a flat roof. Cast stone details around the front doors and the sprandrels. Crosses are imprinted in the sprandrels. A large school with a rectangular plan and flat roof sits north of the church. A projecting entrance with a metal sign above the door announces “St. Joseph’s School.” Projecting bands of brick courses wrap the projecting entrance. Orange doors with port hole windows adorn the building. The front entrance also has a large transom window.
