- In 1883, Mrs. Safford presented the Cairo Public Library building to the citizens of Cairo as a memorial to her husband, A.B. Stafford. The red brick library is an outstanding example of Queen Anne architecture. Located at 1609 Washington Avenue in Cairo, Illinois.
