In 1919, the citizens of Fernwood donated a World War I veterans’ monument. In 2019, the boulder remained but the plaque was gone. Park employees speculated that the plaque had gone missing in the 1970s or 80s.

Ridge Park MemorialsNo apparent WWI Memorial. Ridge Park includes a number of monuments to veterans of various wars. In the early 1990s, the park district grouped these together in a single memorial area when the community sought to recognize Beverly resident and U.S. Marine Corps Captain William J. Hurley (1963 1991), who died while on a training mission during the Desert Storm conflict.

Bohemian Cemetery – Stieber Memorial Moline WWI MemorialSculpture by CS Paolo. Consists of a circular grouping of bronze figures around a flagpole. The figures include a soldier, angel of glory, angel of mourning, a boy, and father time. Another angel stands behind holding a semi circular garland. Dedicated in 1929 1930.
