Galena High School
Galena
The high school was awarded for the restoration of its concrete steps. The staircase, built in the 1920s, climbs the hill overlooking the river valley and is an important community landmark. The efforts of the high school were accomplished with help of many Galena High School alumni, the Galena Foundation and the City of Galena, which received ISTEA funding for this stairway and two others.
