Chicagoland Watch List

Archive 2002-2007

52 properties have been listed to Landmarks Illinois' Chicagoland Watch List since the program was introduced in 2002. While some of these structures or sites have been saved; others have been demolished. However, for the majority the fight for preservation continues. The “scorecard” reads: 5-9-38 (i.e., 5 sites saves, 9 demolished, 38 other). The following reports are based on recent interviews with local preservationists.
