Presidential Appointment for Former LI Board Member
Washington

 

Bradford J. White, a former Board President of Landmarks Illinois (1994-96), has been appointed by President Barack Obama to be a member of the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation. The 23-member independent federal agency was established in 1966 to advise the President and Congress on national historic preservation policy.

 

Brad, who is an Evanston resident, is principal of Brad White & Associates, which provides development consulting on affordable housing and historic resources. He is a former Senior Vice President at the Habitat Company and a former Vice

 
 

President of Related Midwest—both Chicago-based development companies with experience in historic preservation. He is a past board chair of Preservation Action and a board member of the Illinois Housing Council. He is a coauthor of “Procedural Due Process in Plain English: A Guide for Preservation Commissions” (National Trust for Historic Preservation) and “Preparing a Historic Preservation Plan” (American Planning Association).
