Soldier Field Case Lost                                                                                 RETURN

On February 21st, the Supreme Court of Illinois issued a ruling against LPCI’s and the Friends of the Parks’ appeal of the Soldier Field case. In a unanimous opinion, the Supreme Court upheld the lower court’s decision that the project does not violate the public trust and public benefit doctrines.

This decision supports the completion of the new Chicago Bears stadium within Soldier Field,  a National Historic Landmark. The National Park Service is expected to rescind Soldier Field’s NHL designation  when the new stadium project is completed in the fall.

Our deep gratitude to all who contributed to this challenge.
