Landmarks Illinois Honorees

Since 2006, Landmarks Illinois has honored nearly 40 individuals, families and corporations at its annual fundraiser, the Legendary Landmarks Celebration. Below are the people and corporations Landmarks Illinois has honored for helping shape Chicago’s civic and cultural skyline.

2018 Honorees

Daniel Levin

Daniel Levin is the founder and chairman of the Habitat Company, a real estate development and management company since 1971. His developments have changed significantly Chicago’s skyline and communities. For over 20 years, Levin and the Habitat Company oversaw the citywide public housing revitalization program as the Court-appointed receiver of CHA.

Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle has been a dedicated community leader for over two decades. She has worked with the Cook County Board of Commissioners, elected officials and county employees to implement major reform and reshape county government through fiscal responsibility, innovative leadership, transparency & accountability, and improved services.

Fred Berglund is a third-generation owner of Berglund Construction. The company proudly celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2011. After working under his father Norman from 1982 to 1995, Fred took over as president. During Fred’s executive tenure, Berglund Construction has expanded in both new building and restoration services it provides and the region it serves.
