The following is a list of recipients for Landmarks Illinois' Preservation Heritage Fund grant program for the counties of Bureau, Carroll, Henry, Jo Daviess, LaSalle, Lee, Mercer, Putnam, Rock Island, Whiteside.

 

         
 

 

Manlius, Bureau County
1st State Bank


This Sullivanesque building was designed by Parker Noble Barry, Sullivan’s chief draftsman, in 1915 and is now occupied by the Manlius Historical Society. Its $5,000 matching grant in 2005 helped repair masonry damage. Manlius is 15 miles northwest of Princeton in Bureau County.
 

 
 

 

     
         
 

 

     
 

 

Orion, Henry County
Orion Water Tower


Main Street Orion received a $15,000 grant in 2005 for the restoration of the Orion Water Tower.  The tower is one of only 10 individually listed water towers in the National Register of Historic Places in Illinois and the only one of its kind listed. Orion is 10 miles south of Moline in Henry County.
 

 
 

 

     
 

 

     
 

 

     
 

 

Rock Island, Rock Island County
Old Lincoln School


This Romanesque-style school building, completed in 1894, has been largely vacant since 1980. It is now owned by the City, which received a $5,000 matching grant in 2008 to help conduct a survey by ArtSpace Projects, Inc. on the interest in converting the building to artists live/work space. The school was listed on Landmarks Illinois' Ten Most Endangered Historic Places in 2005.
