On March 7, 2009, philanthropist Richard H. Driehaus announced a four-year, $1 million commitment to Landmarks Illinois to establish a grant program that assists communities throughout Illinois in restoring their historic county courthouses.

“Richard Driehaus is a long-time leader in the historic preservation movement,” said Jim Peters, President of Landmarks Illinois. “We are honored to accept his gift and partnership with Landmarks Illinois to help preserve many of our state’s greatest works of public architecture — the County Courthouse.”

Guidelines and an application form for the grant program are below. Applications must be received by September 1, 2010. If you are interested in receiving more information, please e-mail Suzanne Germann, Director of Grants and Easements, at GermannS@lpci.org.
