rehabilitate and re-use the building. Its architectural
significance and prominent site makes it a high priority adaptive re-use
project for the city. Meanwhile, it continues to deteriorate as it awaits a
new owner.
Architect E.E. Roberts is well known for his many residential commissions,
of varying architectural styles, while his early practice was based in Oak
Park. Commercial and public commissions for Roberts were becoming more common during the
period of the Masonic Temple’s construction.
