Landmarks Illinois was overwhelmed with submissions from around the state for this year’s Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Preservation Awards, which was presented at the Chicago Club on October 17th. The selection jury was struck by a common thread that seemed to present itself in each submission. Preservation of these historic buildings came as a choice. Funds were raised and families, churches, individuals, and communities came together to make the decision to preserve this state’s architectural heritage.
